6 Photogenic Places in Bucharest

Words & Pictures by Shaun Troke

Even at the beginning of winter, Bucharest has many interesting sights to see…though, I can imagine that summer in this Romanian city would’ve used up much more space on my camera’s memory card!

However, with the bleak winter weather against me & my lens, here’s a few places worth viewing next time you’re in Bucharest.

Cărturești Carusel

This book store can be captured from so many angles!

The sheer size of this book store has made it a popular tourist attraction in Bucharest…

Pasajul Victoria

A recurring theme that many cities seem to have these days, is an alley roofed with umbrellas.

And, there’s a crazy amount of umbrellas, too…

Therefore, providing your pictures with much more colour and depth!

Palace of Parliament

Yet, the scale of this huge building is overwhelming, when viewed in person.

Photographs & movies fail to capture its magnitude…

So, I recommend this building is better seen with the naked eye (whilst still grabbing a picture, though!)

IOANID Park

Arcul de Triumf

I first spotted Bucharest’s Arch of Triumph on the bus journey from the airport to the city…

And, I knew I had grab a picture of this before leaving.

Old Town

Granted, Old Town has become one of the most popular tourism areas in the city, however, you won’t struggle to find little photogenic pockets that’ll make you feel like you’re off the tourist map!
